Alumni  and volunteers participate in Life is good Festival on Boston Common

MassSTAR alumni and volunteers gathered on Boston Common this past Saturday, July 19th to volunteer for the Life is good Festival on the Boston Common. The festival, which is free and open to the public, benefits Project Joy, a non-profit dedicated to fostering the healthy development of our most vulnerable children. Many of the children served by Project Joy are living in poverty and have been deeply impacted by violence, loss, and other traumatic events. MassSTAR 2008 Conference

The Massachusetts Youth Leadership Foundation partnered with Lasell College in Newton, MA to host the spring 2008 conference. The conference took place Friday, May 30, 2008 to Sunday, June 1, 2008.

Lasell's 50-acre campus is located in suburban Newton, Massachusetts—within eight miles of downtown Boston at the heart of the Route 128 high-tech corridor. Lasell is well known for helping students make the connection between classroom lessons and real life through hands-on activities such as internships, practica, service learning, and meaningful projects.

2008 MassSTAR Conference a success!

Close to 100 students from all over Massachusetts participated in the 2008 MassSTAR Conference. They heard from panelists and participated in workshops and activities centered around the conference's theme: Think Globally, Act Locally. After the conference ended, students said that their lives were changed and that the conference inspired them to be better people in their communities. The MassSTAR Alumni Association would like to welcome the 2008 delegates to their alumni meetings. Please stay tuned about upcoming meetings and about the reunion!

MassSTAR thanks our 2008 sponsors!

The 2008 MassSTAR Conference would not be made possible without contributions from generous sponsors. Major partners this year include the General Federation of Women's Clubs of Massachusetts and Lasell College. For a complete list of sponsors, visit our sponsor page.
