Interested in Volunteer Opportunities with MassSTAR?
The Massachusetts Youth Leadership Foundation and The MassSTAR Citizenship Conference are run entirely by volunteers. These are committed individuals from across the state who come together in the interest of youth leadership. Through our work we demonstrate to young people what can be accomplished through the commitment of time and energy to a cause.
MassSTAR can always use additional, committed people who share the organization's interests and goals. Current needs include individuals who are interested in:
Fundraising
Recruiting
Organization
Alumni outreach
Conference participation
If you would like additional information on volunteering with MassSTAR, please contact us by email. Simply give us your name and contract information, and a MassSTAR volunteer will contact you to discuss how you can best help to realize the potential of today's young leaders. By so doing, you will be helping all of us towards a better tomorrow.

2009 Conference Staff and Volunteers
We're looking for enthusiastic people to help with this year's 2009 Citizenship Conference! Read more about our many opportunities below.
If you are available the entire weekend from the evening of Thursday, May 28th through the afternoon of Sunday, May 31, we have some exciting options for you:
Senior Facilitators: Individuals over the age of 21 who will lead a diverse group of 12 students through the workshops, discussions, and presentations. Facilitators are expected to be familiar with the program, have good communication and listening skills, and attend a training session at Lasell College, date TBA.
Junior Facilitators: MassSTAR alumni under the age of 21 who will work with a group to help facilitate discussions, build group unity, and serve as a role model to this year's ambassadors to help them make the most of the three-day experience. Selection of junior facilitators will be based on an application, involvement in the alumni association, and an interview (date TBA). Junior facilitators will also be required to attend a training session at Lasell College, date TBA.
Operations Staff: Individuals who like to do "behind the scenes" work to help everything run smoothly for the weekend. Tasks will include setting up projects, greeting speakers, facilitating transportation, and organizing other logistics. The operations team is integral to the success of the conference (and they have a lot of fun doing it!) We need people of all ages, experiences, and abilities. Operations staff will also have direct interaction with students in large group activities.
If you can't stay for the entire weekend, but would still like to help out, we have opportunities for you, too!
In-kind donations: We depend on the support of the Massachusetts community to run our conference. If you, someone you know, or your company would like to make a donation of products or services, please contact Melissa Kaye at volunteer@massstar.org. Specifically, we are looking for donations of office supplies, services, walkie-talkies, drinks, snacks, printing, DJ, and video services, and all types of gift cards.
Operations Staff: The Operations team is always looking for people who can stop by during the day's activities (especially at the beginning and end of the weekend to help with registration and breakdown) to assist with the conference.
Contact us at volunteer@massstar.org if you would like to inquire about any of the opportunities listed above.
